Trust Your Self – Arnold’s First Rule
I will share a 6 part series of Arnold’s 6 Rules of Success.
“The First Rule to Success is TRUST YOURSELF. But what is most important is that you have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves, who do you want to be? NOT what but WHO? And I’m talking about not what your parents and teachers want you to be, but YOU! I’m talking about figuring out for yourselves what makes you HAPPY no matter how crazy it may sound to other people. So Rule #1 is, of course, TRUST YOURSELF no matter how and what anyone thinks.”
I have to remember this daily. I have to keep moving or else I may doubt myself. The old rule of going with your first instinct rings true. Never ever doubt your intentions, worth, or goal. We all have wild dreams, dreams only ourselves understand and we know what our ultimate goal is no matter how crazy it sounds to others. If you look at every accomplishment most would have said it is not realistic from proving the earth was round to the IPHONE most were saying it couldn’t be done or they were crazy in their concept. But look how those wild dreams are in our daily life.
I used to get myself down daily but not accomplishing my goals or dreams, all were to my own doings. I listened to the wrong advice and I would listen to people saying that is not realistic. Today I have a vision, a vision that involves success, a vision that involves my daughter, all are attainable goals as long as I DO. I trust myself more on a day to day bases not to let anyone down and be who I want to be. Giving, Loving, Sober, Honest, Intelligent, a Hard Worker and A Daddy! That’s my who not what. What would be a Father, a Christian, a Contractor, a Brother, a Son, and an Alcoholic Felon.
I don’t want to be known for what I am or what I did. I want to be who I have become and who I want to be. This is the future and the future starts right now. Today and the days proceeding we should be striving for who we want to be not what we want to be. I always stand true to my self and hold my self accountable. That is something I never done before but it is who I am today.
Tonight I stand behind you to fight for what you want. Who you want to be is the most important thing you can find about yourself and trusting your leap of faith when you find the WHO. Push forward my friends no matter what failures, hurts, or addictions that might haunt you. There is a way out. Find your circle of trust that make you believe in yourself. If you have to do it alone, I am not going to lie it will be harder, but you and only you ultimately have to do it with support or not.
I challenge you to make the leap of faith in who you want to be. Trust is key in yourself.
Always, Joe Dub
